Job Summary
Conduct surgical duties including anesthetic induction, preparation, monitoring, and recovery; perform diagnostics and treatments for shelter animals, foster animals, and community clinic patients; assist veterinarians with triaging animals and implementing treatment protocols. Deliver direct care to clients and caregivers by taking histories, performing initial exams, and educating them on medical conditions and medication instructions. Manage laboratory work, specimen collection, and radiography while maintaining meticulous record keeping. Thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment requiring efficient time management and the ability to handle conflict resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Veterinary Technician
- An interest in and willingness to support the mission, vision, and philosophy of KHS
- Previous experience or specific training/interest in HQHVSN and/or shelter medicine
- Surgical preparation
