Job Summary
Licensed Veterinary Technician in Internal Medicine at PET in Anchorage, AK. Assist Internist with advanced diagnostic procedures, patient care, and case management; provide nursing care for complex and chronic Internal Medicine cases (hospitalized and outpatient); obtain detailed histories, monitor vitals, and collect diagnostic samples. Support advanced diagnostics and interventional procedures including upper/lower endoscopy and other minimally invasive techniques; coordinate and assist with advanced imaging such as CT; assist in anesthetic planning and monitoring for critically ill patients; manage CRIs, fluids, electrolytes, and medications; perform accurate dosing calculations and maintain detailed medical records. Maintain proper patient restraint and handling while prioritizing multiple cases and ensuring efficient patient flow. Requires active veterinary technician license, 2+ years of experience (prefer Internal Medicine/specialty), strong technical skills, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and fluent English. The role offers full-time hours (approx. 36–40 per week) with various shifts, a sign-on bonus up to $5,000, relocation assistance, and comprehensive benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, PTO, and CE allowance.
Required Qualifications
- Active veterinary technician license
- Minimum 2+ years of veterinary technician experience (preferably Internal Medicine or specialty setting)
- Strong technical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, medication administration, and patient care
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
- Fluent English (speaking and reading)
