Job Summary
Licensed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in examinations, treatments, and monitoring of animals; assist in surgery and anesthesia, prepare and analyze laboratory samples, maintain medical records, educate clients on wellness and care plans, manage supplies and hospital operations, and perform select reception duties. Requires CVT/RVT/LVT certification or licensing and 1+ year veterinary hospital experience. On-site position in Bellevue, WA with 10+ hour shifts, weekends/evenings possible.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree a plus
- Must have and maintain a valid certification, registration, or licensing (CVT, RVT, or LVT)
- 1+ years of veterinary hospital experience
- Ability to stay up-to-date with veterinary medicine through continuing education
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
- Multi-tasking and high accuracy under interruptions
- Experience with EMR/Scheduling software
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures including surgery, dentistry, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and anesthesia management
- Understanding of veterinary medications and dosage calculations
- Strong customer service focus and excellent communication skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- On-site availability (no remote work)
- Basic reception duties (triaging calls, scheduling)
- Compliance with safety and OSHA standards
