Job Summary
Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams, surgery, and general medicine by taking histories, monitoring vital signs, and administering anesthesia and medications. Perform in-house laboratory testing, obtain specimens, and take radiographs while maintaining proper safety protocols. Provide basic animal restraint, clean exam and lab areas, and educate clients on patient care plans. Collaborate closely with the veterinary team to ensure seamless client interactions and high-quality patient outcomes. This role supports a 20-person team serving the Ham Lake and East Bethel area, offering a quiet, country setting with full preventive and surgical services.
Required Qualifications
- State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in state of desired employment
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds
- Ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
- Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
- Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages
- Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
