Job Summary
Conduct pet restraint, triage incoming patients, and manage nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases. Collect and analyze lab samples, perform diagnostic imaging, and assist with surgical preparation and anesthetic management. Administer medications and communicate treatment plans with clients while maintaining medical records. Must withstand unpleasant odors, noises, and exposure to animal waste or contagious diseases. Schedule includes Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 3pm; Sunday is closed. Availability for Saturdays is required.
Required Qualifications
- A Licensed Veterinary Technician with an active license
- 2+ year professional experience
- Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
- Availability to work Saturdays
- Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
- Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
- Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
- Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
- Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
- Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
- May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
Desired Qualifications
- Previous professional experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
- Comfortable with all aspects of surgical procedures
- Experience in dental radiography
