Licensed Veterinary Technician

Job Summary
Conduct animal restraint, triage incoming patients, and manage nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability. Perform diagnostic imaging, radiographic positioning, and image capture, while assisting with surgical preparation and anesthetic management. Collect and analyze lab samples including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens, and administer medications under client communication protocols. Work Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm, with the Old Town location open Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm. Must withstand unpleasant odors, noises, bites, scratches, and exposure to animal waste or contagious diseases.
Required Qualifications
- A Licensed Veterinary Technician with an active license
- Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
- Some Saturday shift availability
- Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
- Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
- Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
- Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
- Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
- Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
- Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
- May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year professional experience
- Additional skills in dental radiography
