Licensed Therapist – Fairfield County

Job Summary

Provide individual, family, and group counseling and psychotherapy to a diverse caseload including adults, adolescents, and families with severe mental illness or substance use disorders. Conduct crisis assessments, develop evidence-based treatment plans after the first encounter, and document progress toward therapy goals in each session. Serve as a liaison to coordinate referrals, access community resources, and advocate for clients while actively participating in treatment conferences. Maintain accurate clinical, legal, and financial documentation within agency guidelines and attend regular supervision. Work flexible hours including days, evenings, and weekends, with availability for crisis management by phone as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from relevant accredited program
  • Bachelor's degree from relevant accredited program with 2 years' experience in social work or counseling
  • Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral science or nursing
  • LSW or LCDC III, LPC, MFT license
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance
  • Knowledge of individual differences in ability, personality, and interests
  • Knowledge of learning and motivation
  • Knowledge of psychological research methods
  • Knowledge of assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of emotional and mental dysfunctions
  • Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics
  • Knowledge of societal trends and influences
  • Knowledge of human migrations, ethnicity, and cultures and their history and origins
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to form relationships with diverse populations within diverse settings

  • Comfort in fast-paced environment with multiple clients
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records

  • Ability to provide Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment (CPST)
  • Ability to provide SUD Targeted Case Management
  • Ability to provide Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS)
  • Ability to provide minor case management functions
  • Ability to provide services via telehealth
  • Ability to provide services in outpatient offices
  • Ability to provide services in community-based settings
  • Ability to provide services to adults, adolescents, and families
  • Ability to provide specialty therapeutic services (e.g. IHBT, Maternal Depression, etc.)
  • Ability to work under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor/Manager
