Job Summary
Manage projects and client accounts in the Survey group at Timmons Group's Ashburn, VA office. Responsible for design-related surveying projects using Civil 3D, modeling, and CAD technology, including boundary, topographical, construction, control networking, and HD surveys. Duties include marketing and client development, technical quality, profitability, scheduling, project staff coordination, client communications, proposal preparation, negotiating scopes and fees, billing, and fee collection support. Maintain strong client relationships and cross-sell services. Able to manage multiple projects concurrently; communicate with division manager, clients, staff, and internal design team. Requires a bachelor’s degree in Surveying/Engineering or equivalent, LS licensure, 5–10 years of surveying experience, and proficiency with Civil 3D, GPS/RTK, machine control models, and project accounting. The role emphasizes client development and supervision of field crews, along with proficiency in the software tools needed to perform essential functions.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Surveying/Engineering or a scientific area and/or equivalent work experience
- Must be licensed (L.S.) in one or more states in which Timmons Group conducts business is required
- Has 5 to 10 years of surveying experience
- Working knowledge and experience using Civil 3D software
- Working knowledge and experience creating Machine Control Models
- Working knowledge and experience utilizing GPS/RTK technology
- Must have a thorough understanding of project accounting and demonstrated ability to manage the schedule and budget for multiple projects at the same time
- Has experience in client development and supervision of the technical work of others (field crews)
- Has a working knowledge of technical and office support software required to perform the essential functions of the position
