Job Summary
Licensed Surveyor responsible for managing surveying projects and client accounts in the Newport News, VA office. Oversees design-related surveying work using Civil 3D, modeling, and CADD technology; coordinates project scope, schedule, and budget; develops proposals, negotiates fees, and maintains client communications; mentors field crews and supports cross-selling of services. Responsibilities include managing multiple projects or a larger project, performing boundary/topographic/construction surveys, calculating using surveying formulas, and using GPS/RTK technology, with ongoing communication to the Division Manager and clients to ensure technical quality, profitability, and timely delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying/Engineering or equivalent
- LS (Licensed Surveyor) in one or more states
- 5 to 10 years of surveying experience
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D
- Experience creating Machine Control Models
- Experience with GPS/RTK technology
- Understanding of project accounting and ability to manage schedules and budgets
- Experience in client development and supervision of field crews
- Proficient in office software and related surveying tools
