Job Summary
Supervise students, manage behavior, and ensure continuity of learning by administering LCPS curriculum or implementing absent employee lesson plans. Provide daily direction and supervision while building positive relationships with students, staff, and the community. Deliver instruction across content areas, develop and grade assessments for long-term assignments, and communicate with parents and administrators. Submit daily feedback summaries covering lessons covered, incidents, and student questions. Report daily to a single location for site-based roles or work 7.5-hour days for counselor positions. Earn rates ranging from $19.29 to $28.57 hourly depending on assignment type.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a current or expired Virginia teaching license, another U.S. state-issued teaching license, or is eligible for a teaching license via an accredited university or college.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with being a lead teacher/instructor/professor of adults or children preferred.
- Experience teaching or training adults or children in a non-classroom public school environment is preferred (i.e. classroom/school/community volunteer, preschool instructor, coach, and/or child care provider).
- Knowledge of effective classroom management strategies is preferred.
