Job Summary
Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor needed to provide direct social work and psychotherapy services in an outpatient psychiatry/biobehavioral medicine clinic within an academic medical center. Responsibilities include psychosocial assessment, active treatment and psychotherapy, discharge planning, case management, and documentation in collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team. Works with a complex caseload of patients with comorbid medical and psychiatric illness; conducts diagnostic evaluations, prepares reports and progress notes, and participates in coordination of care with medical specialties. Provides individual and group therapy to adults and adolescents; must be licensed (LISW or LPC) and capable of operating independently within the clinic. Requires Master’s degree in social work or social welfare or counseling, and valid state licensure in South Carolina.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or from a regionally accredited institution; Master's degree in counseling from a regionally accredited institution; Licensed by the State of South Carolina to provide diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapy; LISW or LPC license to operate independently in the clinic and report to the Division Director
