Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in residence with mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and behavioral issues while collaborating with medical, mental health, and correctional staff to maintain a secure environment. Perform and document mental health evaluations, progress notes, individual and group counseling notes, and treatment plans; initiate patient education and group therapy programs. Monitor compliance with site-specific policies, ACA, and NCCHC standards, and prepare reports for hearings. This role requires active Colorado licensure, three years of clinical experience, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Required Qualifications
- Master's prepared Mental Health Professional
- active, unrestricted licensure as a (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LMHP, LISW, etc.) in Colorado
- minimum of 3 years' clinical experience in a mental health care or acute care setting
- correctional healthcare experience
- knowledge and experience in the identification and treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders
- discharge planning
- principles of social work
- basic principles of individual and group behavior
- working knowledge of psychotropic medications
- ability to remain calm under pressure
- Effective communications skills
- Strong organizational skills
- ability to stand for long periods
- lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances
- perform physically demanding tasks like CPR
- good balance and endurance throughout a shift
