Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in residence with mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and behavioral issues while collaborating with medical and correctional staff to maintain a secure environment. Perform and document mental health evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and group therapy sessions to address criminogenic needs and promote positive behavioral change. Manage case files, prepare reports, and initiate patient education programs while ensuring compliance with ACA, NCCHC standards, and facility policies. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all correctional healthcare procedures. Requires a minimum of three years clinical experience and licensure as an LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LMHP, LMSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC. Full-time day shift in Oregon City.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Social Worker Mental Health Counselor (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LMHP, LMSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC)
- Minimum of 3 years' clinical experience in a mental health care or acute care setting
- Correctional healthcare experience
- Knowledge and experience in the identification and treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders
- Experience in discharge planning
- Knowledge of principles of social work
- Knowledge of basic principles of individual and group behavior
- Working knowledge of psychotropic medications
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to assess patients' situations, underlying causes of their behavior
- Ability to develop interventions and treatment plans
- Effective communications skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Integrity
- Professionalism
- Ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct
- Ability to comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Ability to pass the facility's criminal background check
- Ability to pass drug screening
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks like CPR
