Job Summary
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or LMSW/LCSW needed to provide behavioral health services in the Montgomery County Jail. Responsibilities include clinical assessments, risk assessments, and liaison between the medical unit and facility staff; coordinate and implement the mental health program per NCCHC standards; make psychiatry referrals; facilitate admission/placement to forensic hospitals; monitor services and ensure standards of care; participate in the Quality Assurance Committee; develop in-service education; and collect data for monthly reports. Requires NY licensure, a Master’s degree in a relevant field, and at least two years of clinical experience; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Required Qualifications
- Must be licensed as a LMHC, LMSW, or LCSW in the state of New York
- Must hold a Master’s degree or greater in Social Work, Psychology, or related Human Service field with a concentration in clinical course work, training and/or experience
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience and familiarity with substance abuse/MAT counseling is preferred
- Must hold a valid driver’s license & have reliable transportation.
