Job Summary
Provide individualized educational programs for students with special needs, including planning and implementing IEP-aligned instruction, behavior management within the classroom, crisis intervention and safety procedures, collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, and communicating with families. Responsibilities include curriculum planning, developing lesson plans, researching educational resources, monitoring student progress, maintaining a safe classroom, and participating in committees as needed, while leveraging licensed status and educational credentials to support diverse learners in a therapeutic educational setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and knowledge in science required
- Massachusetts Educator Licensure required
- Master's Degree in Education or a related field preferred
- Special Education license desired
- Previous experience working in education and/or with program specific population highly desirable
- Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications
