Job Summary
Deliver evidence-based social–emotional and mental health supports across Tiers 1–3, including classroom lessons, small groups, and short-term individual counseling. Maintain accurate records aligned to FERPA/HIPAA and coordinate IEP/504 processes, McKinney-Vento, and Foster Care services as assigned. Lead crisis prevention and response, train staff on de-escalation, and partner with families to reduce chronic absenteeism while building resource networks for basic needs. Establish dashboards for progress monitoring and present trends in Student Support meetings. This role blends direct clinical support with systems-building to ensure equitable access to learning for KIPP's 5,000 students.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- State licensure (e.g., LCSW/LPC or state-approved equivalent); eligible for supervision if not independently licensed
- School-based or youth mental health experience delivering Tier 2/3 interventions, crisis response, and case management
- Working knowledge of MTSS, trauma-informed practices, restorative approaches, and child welfare/mandated reporting
- Familiarity with special education and Section 504 processes and documentation
- Data fluency: uses screeners, progress monitoring tools, and SIS/SEIS platforms; strong written documentation

- Currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- Must be able to lift/move up to 30lbs occasionally
- Must be able to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret data (emails, memos, letters, etc.) and maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time
- Able to sit and work at a desk/computer for extended periods of time
