Job Summary
Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist in long-term care facilities providing recovery-oriented support and case management under licensed supervision. Responsibilities include developing individualized care plans, coordinating behavioral health and healthcare services, delivering direct/ group interventions, staff training on triggers and de-escalation, maintaining open communications with facility teams, adherence to HIPAA and regulatory standards, and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care for residents in skilled nursing and assisted living settings.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in counseling or marriage and family therapy
- Eligibility for a license to practice in the state of practice
- Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
- Knowledge of population-specific interventions and delivering care per treatment plan
- Knowledge of behavioral health practice rules and regulations
- Ability to gather and analyze patient data
- Ability to provide training on social and emotional well-being, stress management, anger management and life skills
- Skill in written and verbal communication
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Ability to react calmly in emergencies
- Ability to evaluate and recommend continuous quality improvement
- Compliance with organizational policies and professional ethical standards
