Job Summary
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) needed for detox and recovery clinic in Jonesboro, GA. The LPC provides mental health and substance-use counseling, psychotherapy, assessments, treatment planning, care coordination, and recovery-support services to adults and families within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include conducting biopsychosocial assessments and ASAM-based level-of-care reviews; developing and updating individualized treatment and discharge plans; delivering individual, group, and family therapy; facilitating psychoeducational and relapse-prevention groups; monitoring client progress and safety; crisis intervention and escalation as needed; coordinating with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and community resources; educating clients and families on addiction, mental health, coping strategies, and aftercare planning; and maintaining compliant documentation in the EHR. The role requires Georgia LPC licensure, a Master’s degree in a relevant field, and experience with behavioral health treatment, with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional evenings/weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field meeting Georgia professional counseling licensure requirements.
- Active Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in good standing.
- Associate-level license may be considered only when consistent with job classification, supervision, payer, and facility requirements.
- Experience working with mental health, substance use, and/or co-occurring disorder populations preferred.
- Knowledge of ASAM criteria, DSM-informed assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning, discharge planning, and ethical clinical documentation.
- Ability to provide individual, group, and family therapy within Georgia LPC scope of practice and agency policy.
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, documentation, and clinical judgment skills.
