Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients and families with neurological injuries to set measurable goals and adjust treatment plans for maximum independence. Provide empirically based psychological interventions to maximize community participation and design activities addressing psychological and cognitive needs during physical activity. Regularly reassess treatment effectiveness, modify goals as needed, and communicate progress to the multidisciplinary team, physicians, and family members. Document condition changes and submit all evaluation, treatment, and billing documentation in compliance with state, federal, and company regulations. Maintain HIPAA and corporate compliance standards while performing duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Master's or doctoral degree in counseling or a counseling-related field from an accredited college or university
- Current professional license and/or certification as required by the state of practice
- A minimum of one year of post master's degree clinical experience and counseling individuals with traumatic or acquired brain injuries or related neurological conditions
- Knowledge of complex neurologic injury rehabilitation techniques
- Effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travel to/from multiple assignments/locations on a daily basis
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with knowledge of neurological injuries
