Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based counseling interventions for children, adolescents, and adults. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with Louisiana LPC Board and Medicaid guidelines, while monitoring client progress and delivering crisis intervention when needed. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists and case managers, and participate in staff meetings and quality assurance activities. Maintain professional boundaries, ensure HIPAA compliance, and provide referrals to outside services as clinically appropriate. Occasional evening hours may be required based on client needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution
  • Current, active LPC license in the state of Louisiana issued by the LA LPC Board of Examiners
  • Clear criminal background check per Louisiana state requirements
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong clinical documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while participating in a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift up to 10–20 lbs occasionally (files, materials)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or specialized populations (trauma, autism, mood disorders, etc.)
  • Prior outpatient, behavioral health, school-based, or community mental health experience
  • Familiarity with Louisiana Medicaid documentation standards
  • Training in evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, Play Therapy, TF-CBT, ACT, etc.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Cultural competence and trauma-informed care approach
  • Professionalism and ethical decision-making
  • Ability to manage caseload, schedules, and timely documentation
  • Crisis management and de-escalation skills
