Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in inpatient rehabilitation provides delegated nursing care, medication administration, admission/check-in support, specimen handling, and documentation under supervision. Responsibilities include coordinating with RNs/physicians, patient education, and contributing to quality improvement. Skills include patient care, nursing practices, documentation, communication, and education; strong emphasis on adherence to regulatory standards and ability to mentor others if required.
Required Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire OR obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval
- Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) is required if applicable to unit
- IV certification as required by facility/state (Colorado: obtain within 3 months; Montana: complete in-house education within 3 months)
- LPNs in certain departments may need RN enrollment within 4 years if role not in long-term care or behavioral health
- One year of experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting preferred
