Job Summary
Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties providing care to variable patient populations in Flight Medicine and Operational Medicine clinics. Complete patient care based on conditions, use judgment to select procedures, and accurately report relevant information. Observe, identify, and respond to patient needs for medication, equipment-assisted care, and education. Prepare and administer prescribed medications via oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous routes. Recognize urgent or emergent situations, seek assistance from RNs or physicians, and initiate emergency interventions as directed. Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests by preparing patients, assisting in examinations, handling specialized equipment, and monitoring conditions before, during, and after procedures. Orient peers to unit policies and integrate healthy work environment principles. Work Monday through Friday, 9 hours between 7:00 am and 4:30 pm, including a one-hour lunch.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by the Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) or another acceptable accreditation body
- Minimum 1 year experience as a LPN/LVN after graduation
- Active, unrestricted LPN/LVN license from any state
- Possess current ARC or AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification
- Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance
