Job Summary
Provide basic nursing care by assisting in resident assessments on admission and ongoing, communicating significant condition changes to the interdisciplinary team. Accurately document assessments, participate in care planning, and implement nursing interventions including IV fluid administration if certified. Administer medications and treatments safely, monitor residents for behavioral changes, and notify physicians using SBARR. Maintain composure during crises, answer call lights, and assist with activities of daily living. Complete twelve hours of nursing-related continuing education annually. Requires current LPN license, IV certification, and CPR/AED certification.
Required Qualifications
- Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current license in the state you will be working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- IV Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Current CPR/AED Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
- Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with residents, visitors and staff
- Excellent time management and organizational skills are required
- Must possess critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- Long-term care/Rehab/Assisted Living experience preferred
