Job Summary
Assist in direction of nursing services for the unit or hall in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act under Registered Nurse supervision. Delegate duties to professional and non-professional nursing personnel while monitoring work performance. Observe patients for symptoms or reactions indicative of adverse change and assist in notifying attending physicians of emergencies or patient deaths. Implement changes in orders as instructed by physicians and perform other duties as assigned. Work as a charge nurse and be available for emergency coverage to ensure adequate staffing. Requires a current North Carolina LPN license, CPR certification, and attendance at required in-service training.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Licensed Practical Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Willing to work as charge nurses
- Willing to work as needed during emergencies to assure adequate coverage
- Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients
- Ability to follow doctors' orders
- Genuine interest in geriatric nursing
- CPR certified yearly
- Willingness to attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required
- Background checks/drug-free workplace
