Job Summary
Administer medications, perform wound care, and monitor patient conditions while delivering nursing care to patients in their homes across all developmental stages. Educate families on health management and self-care techniques, then collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement personalized care plans and report clinical changes. Work under registered nurse supervision to assess, plan, and evaluate care for neonates through geriatric populations, utilizing the nursing process according to established policies. Maintain schedules to enhance agency performance while demonstrating positive interpersonal relations with patients, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- Graduate of an accredited or approved school of practical nursing
- Current license to practice practical nursing in the State of North Carolina
- CPR certification
- Minimum one year practical nursing experience
- Hand/eye coordination in order to give injections, use computer, etc.
- Ability to communicate and be literate in the English language
- Ability to transfer and/or maneuver objects weighing at least 50 pounds
- Ability to visually assess patients
- Ability to utilize hearing to auscultate lung sounds, bowel sounds, hear alarms and effectively communicate with patients, families, physician, and staff
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Operational vehicle
- Variable Mon-Fri, weekends and holidays as needed
