Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) needed to support Withdrawal Management and Recovery Transition programs in Calgary, providing medical and social support during detox, medication assistance, symptom management, health promotion, immunization administration, and collaboration with internal/external resources. Duties include nursing assessments, data entry into EMR, adherence to regulatory standards, patient-centered care, trauma-informed practices, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team. Requires two-year Practical Nursing diploma, CLPNA registration, liability insurance, current CPR-BLS, and clear Vulnerable Sector Check; 1-2 years’ related experience is an asset. Schedule is 48 hours per rotation (4 days on/4 days off), day shift 0700-1900; location is the DI’s main building in Calgary, AB.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited two-year Practical Nursing diploma
- Registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Valid Professional Liability Insurance
- Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check – dated within the last 6 months
- Current CPR – BLS
- 1-2 years nursing experience is an asset, preferably within the addictions and mental health field, and/or the homeless servicing system of care
- Lived experience an asset but not a requirement
