Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client care for patients with predictable outcomes while adhering to British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives standards. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support clients and families, and assist Registered Nurses in managing clients with unpredictable outcomes or complex acuity under general supervision. Maintain clinical competence and operate related equipment within a client-centered care model. This temporary position requires full commitment to the appointment duration and involves working under minimum Nurse to Patient Ratios set by Vancouver Coastal Health.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Commit to remain in the appointment for the entire duration of this position
