Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing detoxification or substance use treatment in a Vermont SUD program, under supervision. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs and withdrawal symptoms, administering medications as ordered, observing and reporting changes, assisting with procedures, and supporting recovery-oriented treatment. Contribute to patient data collection, develop and modify individualized care plans, document accurately in medical records, and ensure infection control and safety. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and support MAT protocols, patient education, and recovery-focused care within the Vermont Nurse Practice Act framework.
Required Qualifications
- Current, active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Vermont
- Graduate of an approved practical nursing program (certificate or associate-level)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, or detox settings
- Familiarity with MAT (e.g., buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone)
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented practices
