Job Summary
Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties providing care to variable patient populations, including preparing and administering prescribed medications and assisting with complex diagnostic tests and specialized procedures. Accurately recognize, report, and record relevant patient information while observing and responding to needs for care, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education. Recognize urgent or emergent situations, seek assistance from registered nurses or physicians, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed. Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and standards of practice while integrating healthy work environment principles. Full-time position at Columbus AFB in Columbus, Mississippi, requiring a current, active LPN license and one year of practical nursing experience.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate
- Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation
- Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse
