Job Summary
Provide services under physician orders and RN supervision by recording care, obtaining vital signs, and documenting clinical progress notes. Assist with specialized tasks including medication preparation, suctioning, catheterizations, and venipuncture while maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control. Encourage client independence through activities of daily living and family teaching on illness management and medications. Manage supplies by checking inventory, making deliveries, and recording usage on daily reports. Maintain a safe work environment, adhere to dress codes, and accept all job assignments and call requests. Submit paperwork and obtain doctor signatures timely while respecting client rights and confidentiality. Attend required training sessions to maintain professional competencies.

- Licensed Practical Nurse
- Knowledge and competency in vital signs
- Knowledge and competency in preparing and instruction of medications
- Knowledge and competency in safety and emergency procedures
- Knowledge and competency in dressing changes in accordance with plan
- Knowledge and competency in oral and nasal suction
- Knowledge and competency in catheterizations
- Knowledge and competency in nursing assessment and documentation of visits
- Knowledge and competency in performing venipuncture as ordered by MD
- Ability to encourage client and family participation in activities of daily living to increase their independence and self-esteem
- Ability to assist patient in learning self-help techniques
- Ability to prepare equipment and materials for treatment, observing aseptic techniques
- Ability to maintain a safe work area free from hazards of fire, spills, litter, chemicals and equipment
- Ability to report problems to RN
- Ability to respect the rights of clients and their family members
- Ability to prepare and submit all paperwork in a timely manner
- Ability to assist in obtaining needed doctor signatures in a timely manner
- Ability to check medical supplies in the Community, review with client-needed items, such as medications, groceries; make deliveries as needed
- Ability to record supplies purchased and errands performed on Summary of Service sheet
- Ability to practice infection control measures and techniques and use universal precautions
- Ability to practice efficient use of supplies and materials
- Ability to safeguard the client's private property
- Ability to respect the rights of clients and families
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all client information and client records
- Ability to adhere to the Community's dress code
- Ability to accept all job assignments and requests to take call
- Ability to conduct self in a professional manner at all times to reflect favorably upon the Community
- Ability to attend all Community required training sessions to maintain professional competencies
