Job Summary
LPN to assist in directing nursing services on the unit/hall under RN supervision, delegating duties to nursing staff, monitoring work performance, and observing patients for signs of adverse change. The role includes notifying the attending physician of emergencies, implementing changes in orders as instructed by physicians, and providing care in geriatric nursing. Requires NC LPN licensure, high school graduation, CPR certification, and willingness to serve as charge nurse and provide coverage during emergencies. Strong emphasis on following doctors’ orders, patient observation, and adherence to Nursing Practice Act under supervision; includes participation in in-service trainings and maintaining a drug-free workplace.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Current, valid NC LPN license with renewal as required
- CPR certified yearly
- Willing to work as charge nurse and provide coverage during emergencies
- Ability to provide quality nursing care to geriatric patients and follow doctors’ orders
- Experience in nursing under RN supervision
- Completion from an accredited School of Nursing
