Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) needed to assist in directing nursing services for the unit under RN supervision. Responsibilities include delegating duties to professional nurses and non-professional staff, monitoring performance, observing patients for signs of adverse changes, notifying attending physicians of emergencies and deaths, implementing changes in orders as instructed by physicians, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires LPN licensure, high school graduate, CPR certification, and willingness to serve as charge nurse and provide coverage during emergencies. Geriatric nursing experience and ability to follow doctors’ orders are essential, as is attending in-service training and staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Current, valid NC LPN license (or proof of renewal)
- High school graduate
- Willing to work as charge nurse and cover emergencies to ensure adequate staffing
- CPR certification (annual)
- Attend in-service training and staff meetings
- Background checks/drug-free workplace compliance
