Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse in dermatology/medical aesthetics setting responsible for treating dermatologic conditions (acne, eczema, rashes, skin cancer, hair loss, infections), caring for up to 25 patients per 8-hour shift, performing accurate charting and billing, observing and documenting patient progress, assisting dermatologists with wide local excisions and advanced procedures, receiving training in biopsy, suturing, and removals, educating patients on self-care and post-procedure recovery, advising on product care beyond the clinic, ensuring sterilization and cleanliness of treatment rooms, following clinic protocols to prevent errors, and collaborating within the nursing team while participating in internal and external training programs.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration and active license in good standing with the provincial regulatory body (e.g., College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta)
- Diploma in Practical Nursing from an accredited institution
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- A minimum of 1–3 years of practical nursing experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and delivering quality care
