Job Summary
Assist in directing nursing services on the unit, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse; delegate duties to professional and non-professional nursing personnel; monitor work performance; observe patients for signs of adverse change; notify attending physician of emergencies and death; implement changes in orders as instructed by physicians; perform other duties as assigned. Requires LPN licensure (NC) and high school diploma; CPR certification; willingness to serve as charge nurse and provide coverage during emergencies; commitment to geriatric nursing and adherence to nursing practice acts; participation in in-service trainings and staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (LPN)
- High school graduate
- Current, valid LPN license verification and renewal as required by NC Board of Nursing
- CPR certification (annual)
- Willing to work as charge nurse and provide coverage during emergencies
- Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients and follow doctors' orders
- Attend in-service training and other staff meetings
