Job Summary
Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to individuals receiving services under the direction of an RN or physician. Works under supervision to monitor and record medications, administer medications, provide training for staff and individuals on topics such as medication administration, universal precautions, infection control, self-medication, prescribed treatments, sex education/STD prevention and smoking cessation. Coordinates with external agencies to ensure consistent treatment, participates in on-call system as needed, and may assist with household activities and transport to activities and appointments. Requires Associates degree in nursing or related field or state nursing certificate and current LPN/LVN licensure; travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in nursing or related field or state certificate
- Current LPN/LVN licensure for state of residence
- Other certifications as required by state licensing regulations such as CPR/FA and HIV/AIDS certification, BBP, and ACT training
- One year experience working with population served in a nursing capacity
