Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under supervision in clinical settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient clinics. Responsibilities include testing, medication administration, implementing nursing interventions and care plans, patient advocacy, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team (RN, physicians, NP/PA). Requires a valid LPN license in practice states and BLS within 90 days of hire. The role emphasizes detail orientation, compassion, and ability to handle physically demanding tasks within the scope of practice dictated by State Boards of Nursing.
