Job Summary
Assists with patient care including checking vital signs, administering injections, performing tests, and documenting all care given in thorough detail. Records patient medical history, enters data into the computer system, and handles proper charting and maintenance of medical records. Follows orders of a physician and registered nurse to provide care, reinforces instructions given by staff, and notifies providers of significant findings or changes in patient condition. Checks, cleans, and dresses wounds while ensuring patients understand physician instructions. Requires NYS LPN licensure, BLS certification, and at least one year of experience working with clients with Substance Use Disorder or Serious Mental Illness. Available to work Sunday-Thursday 7am-3pm at an hourly rate of $30.56.
Required Qualifications
- A Graduate of a formal Technical or Vocational LPN Program
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- NYS LPN licensure
- BLS certification
- at least One (1) year experience as an LPN working with clients with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and/or Serious Mental Illness (SMI)
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR
- Ability to put patients at ease and explain physician's instructions
- Ability to multi-task with excellent organizational skills
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Team player and ability to work independently
- Available to work a flexible schedule as needed in response to participant and staff needs
