Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Radiation Oncology is responsible for nursing care tailored to patient needs in compliance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act, managing office operations daily. Responsibilities include patient assessments, documentation, obtaining medical information, serving as a patient advocate, and providing home care instructions. The LPN will administer treatments, collect specimens, assist in procedures, and support patient education while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Key qualifications include current LPN licensure in Illinois, CPR certification, and completion of an approved LPN program.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure as a LPN in the state of Illinois
- CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire
- Educated as a LPN (LVN) by an approved program
- May perform IV therapy following successful completion of an approved course
