Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Perform testing to evaluate resident status, administer medications or treatments as ordered, and ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents. Document resident interactions, medication outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary needs while contributing to interdisciplinary care team assessments. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans under RN direction. Work a PRN schedule with flexibility to pick shifts, including one weekend and one weekday shift monthly, earning differentials for night and weekend work. Requires an unencumbered LPN license with a minimum of 400 hours of experience or pre-licensure clinical exposure.
Required Qualifications
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
