Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Perform testing to evaluate resident status, administer medications or treatments as ordered, and ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents. Document resident interactions, outcomes, and care plans while counseling families on prevention and treatment strategies. Work flexible PRN shifts, including weekends and weekdays, with differentials available for night and weekend hours. Maintain an unencumbered LPN license and complete required annual continuing education and competency training.
Required Qualifications
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
