Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in a correctional setting, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, conducting initial screenings, and responding to medical emergencies. Assist with sick call assessments, document patient progress, and educate patients on health and wellness topics. Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and infection control standards while maintaining accurate patient records. Ensure the medical unit remains stocked, organized, and clean, reporting any equipment issues promptly. This role supports a safe, efficient healthcare environment within MEDIKO's correctional healthcare space.
Required Qualifications
- A current, valid state(s) licensure, certificate and/or credentials documenting ability to practice in applicable role (i.e. CMA, LPN, RN, LMHP, etc.)
- A High School diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a correctional healthcare or similar environment
- Active CPR/BLS certificate (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved)
Desired Qualifications
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, or a related field
- Experience in roles that involve direct patient care or administrative support in a regulated environment
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to the correctional setting
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, adhere to protocols, and deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced, structured environment
