Job Summary
LPN in pediatrics providing direct and individualized nursing care within an outpatient pediatric setting. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs and severity over urgent and emergent calls, managing medication refills, coordinating with providers’ schedules, counseling patients, and performing licensed professional nursing tasks. Key duties include vaccine administration and overseeing the CT Vaccine Program with monthly inventory and documentation in the electronic health record; accurate charting of assessments, vital signs, specimen collections, interventions, and patient responses; managing prescriptions and medication refills for providers; wound care with infection control practices; supporting meaningful use documentation (e.g., depression screening, sexual history, alcohol and substance abuse history) and coordinating referrals to specialty providers; working with medical assistants to ensure safe, effective patient care and ensuring timely responses to telephone encounters and overdue referrals. COVID-19 vaccination is required with possible exemptions; the workplace is drug-free and participates in E-Verify; Equal Opportunity Employer. Candidates will be hired at a pay range of $26.50-$32.50 per hour, with compensation reflecting experience and certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Valid LPN license in the state of Connecticut
- BLS Certification
- Experience with an electronic health record system
- Vaccine Administration experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple specialty areas, including pediatrics
