Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed professional or Registered Nurse. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Obtain and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state, meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements. This part-time role includes 24 hours of night shifts at Mercy Rehab Hospital. Candidates must possess a graduate degree from an accredited practical nursing program. Physical duties involve lifting up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing, and walking. Preferred certifications include ACLS, PALS, BLS, and LPN-IV, with some required within specific timeframes of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk during each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification (must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri)
- Comparable education experience
- Successful licensure
