Job Summary
Provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse using the nursing process, maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care with other departments while upholding patient rights and confidentiality. Obtain and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state, meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements. This part-time role covers 24 hours on nights at Mercy Rehab Hospital. Candidates must possess the physical ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform prolonged standing and walking. Relevant certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or LPN-IV may be required or acquired within specified timeframes. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
