Job Summary
Obtain medical histories, vital signs, and intake data while prioritizing patient care under physician supervision. Perform procedures including venipuncture, IV insertion, and urinary catheterization; administer oral, rectal, IM, and IV medications. Assist with patient positioning and comfort during x-rays, maintain exam rooms, and ensure proper sterilization. Conduct monthly quality control checks in the office and lab, respond to emergencies, and assist with service recovery. Support urgent care flow efficiency by tracking metrics such as arrival to medication administration and discharge length of stay. Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow all safety protocols. Requires active pediatric nursing license, BLS certification, and pediatric experience.
Required Qualifications
- Pediatric experience
- Pediatric ER, Pediatric hospital unit, or Pediatrics Urgent Care Experience
- Active state nursing license or active compact state licensure from the state you reside
- Prior experience and competency with nursing procedures (not limited to IV placement, urinary straight catheterization, and medication administration)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic's processes, and procedures
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments
- Skill in rapid assessment of the critical presentation of the pediatric population
- Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calm in emergencies
