Licensed Practical Nurse (Part-Time)
Job Summary
Provide psychiatric nursing services coordinating behavioral and physical health care for program participants; assist psychiatrists with insurance prior authorization processes from completing forms to notifying participants when approved; develop and implement a system to ensure participants have prescribed laboratory tests and ensure psychiatrists receive and review results; assist in the Clozaril clinic and collaborate with other nurses to facilitate efficient information flow between the psychiatrists and the team; undertake special projects to improve efficiency in psychiatric services; network with the community regarding health care needs and provide psychiatric nursing services consistent with physician orders and standard nursing practices; function as a consultant and provide education to participants, non-medical team members, and the community.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified Licensed LPN in the State of PA
- Prior experience in servicing community mental health facilities and their needs
- Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric clinical and psychosocial rehabilitation practices
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; detail-oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills; Team oriented; Very strong organization and analytical skills
- Must be available for scheduled emergency on-call service
- Must be available for local travel and possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Scheduling flexibility and possible on-call work are necessary
- May be required to report to work during emergencies, including inclement weather
