Job Summary
Assist Registered Nurses with care and assessment for all age groups within the Standard of Care set by Parkview Health System and the Indiana Nurse Practice Act. Support the multidisciplinary team in stabilizing patients experiencing psychiatric crises, including those with Major Depressive Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Substance Use Disorder, and equip them with community-based resources for outpatient success. Manage diverse psychiatric diagnoses across four adult units and one youth unit, with typical acute inpatient stays ranging from three to seven days. Maintain valid licensure and current CPR certification, with additional certifications like ACLS and PALS required within specific timeframes depending on the department.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of a school of nursing
- Valid Licensed Practice Nurse License required for the State where services will be provided
- Must have current CPR certification
- Demonstrate experience in customer service, establishing priorities, and working independently
- Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and assist with 100 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- Must have PALS within 1 year
- ACLS and PALS both required within 1 year
- NVCI required within 6 months
