Job Summary

Provide necessary medical services to patients within scope of practice, maintain up-to-date electronic health records, and deliver patient education and counseling. Triage nurse visits and phone calls, participate in training programs, and manage inventory by restocking clinical supplies and submitting order requests. Perform after-hour duties including communicating with patients, documenting interactions in the EHR, and utilizing a personal cell phone during on-call rotations. Adhere to the Clinical Policy Manual, participate in quality assurance meetings, and assist with data collection to improve clinic efficiency. Maintain competency in operating medical equipment such as ECGs, PFTs, and vital sign machines while navigating the Microsoft Office suite.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program
  • Current LPN license in the State of Florida
  • Minimum of one (1) year LPN experience in Primary Care setting preferred
  • Current BLS (basic life support) Certification
  • Must be organized, self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Competence in working with both pediatric and adult patients
  • Competency when utilizing ECG
  • Competency when utilizing PFT
  • Competency when utilizing In-house hemoglobin
  • Competency when utilizing Lab centrifuge
  • Competency when utilizing AED
  • Competency when utilizing Autoclave
  • Competency when utilizing Vital Sign Machine
  • Competency when utilizing Nebulizer and accessories
  • Competency when utilizing Blood Glucose
  • Competency when utilizing INR
  • Competency when utilizing In-house hemoglobin A1c
  • Competency when utilizing Oxygen tanks and accessories
  • Competency when utilizing Any other equipment listed on job competencies
  • Ability to navigate and operate the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Meeting Continuing Education Requirement for his/her certifications and licensures as per Florida State Statutes and/or board of authority
  • Effectively communicates complex and/or technical information to co-workers, patients and/or vendors
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to view a computer monitor for long periods of time
  • Must be able to bend
  • Must be able to stretch / reach
  • Must be able to walk short distances
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to operate office equipment (computer, fax machines, telephones and copy machines)
  • Must be able to read forms / Instructions / Patients Charts
  • Must be able to communicate well to people of various ages, educational levels, cultural backgrounds in person or by telephone
  • Must be able to handle Exposure to potentially violent / irate patients
  • Must be able to handle Exposure to chemical infectious / contagious illness
  • Must be able to handle Exposure to chemical and inhalation of antibiotics during reconstitution
  • Must be able to handle Exposure to X-Ray radiation
  • Must be able to handle Exposure to a variety of scents and odors
  • Must be able to utilize universal precaution in clinical or exposure situations as prescribed by federal state, and local guidelines and /or laws
  • Must be able to travel to and provide coverage for other PMG clinics during nursing staff absences

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year LPN experience in Primary Care setting preferred
