Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned adults on a surgical unit focusing on post-operative orthopedic traumas and neurosurgery under the supervision of a licensed provider or Registered Professional Nurse. Coordinate care with other departments while maintaining professional accountability for patient outcomes and confidentiality. Work 12-hour shifts from 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am with rotational weekends, with full-time and part-time options available. Obtain and maintain a current LPN license within 90 days of hire, including LPN-IV certification and Basic Life Support certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements within 90 days of graduation
- LPN-IV Certification issued by the Missouri State Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Nursing process utilization
- Professional accountability for provision of patient care
- Patient care coordination with other departments
- Maintenance of patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
- 12-hour shifts 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am with rotational weekends
- Full Time or Part Time availability
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years' LPN experience
- 3-4 years' LPN experience
- 5+ years' LPN experience
- Nightshift availability
- Development of excellent critical thinking and assessment skills
- Use of a wide variety of clinical skills
- Adult post-operative orthopedic trauma care experience
- Neurosurgery care experience
