Job Summary
Prioritize members and patients by building rapport, assessing needs, and resolving problems quickly while adhering to the Nurse Practice Act. Ensure patient safety through strict medication administration protocols, infection control, and identifying equipment malfunctions. Support physicians by rooming patients, communicating delays, and facilitating schedules while performing specialized procedures like IV therapy and administering treatments. Monitor patient conditions by collecting objective and subjective data, reporting deviations, and initiating emergency procedures as needed. Educate patients and families on preventive health measures, post-operative care, and medication use. Document pertinent information in medical charts, assist with examinations and minor surgeries, and train new employees. Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and instruments as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Licensed as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Colorado
- Completed a minimum of 400 clock hours of faculty planned clinical experience and guided learning activities which required direct supervision by faculty, associate nursing instructional personnel (ANIP) or preceptor who is physically present or immediately accessible
- High School Diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED)
- Practical Nurse License (Colorado)
- Demonstrated customer service focus and exemplary service skills
Desired Qualifications
- Six (6) months of experience with adults, pediatrics and/or trauma
- I.V. therapy certification
- BLS
